House GOP Approves $694 Million to Deal with Border Crisis

August 1, 2014 (San Diego) The United States House approved today a $694 million dollar bill to deal with the border crisis. The White House originally requested a 3.7 Billion comprehensive emergency spending Bill, but the House balked at.

This Bill was passed so late in the session though that with the Summer Recess it will not reach the Senate, which also passed it’s own bill, or the President’s desk. In effect this is now a show in an election year that means the President will have to act unilaterally where he can.

This theater shows how divided Washington is, and how unable to act they are, even during a crisis. There is no expectation that anything will be done until the Fall if at all.
