President Obama Orders the U.S. Military to Take Targeted Strikes at ISIS

August 7, 2014 (San Diego) In an address to the nation President Barack Obama said that he has ordered the military to take targeted strikes at militants of the Islamic State of Iraq, formerly ISIS.

According to the administration militants are close to the town of Irbil, where the United States has a Consulate. This was one of the orders given by the President. The President said, “to stop the advance on Irbil, I directed our military to take targeted strikes against ISIL’s terrorists Convoys.”

The President also gave orders to protect an ancient ethnic minority in Iraq from the prospect of Genocide. The President ordered the drop of humanitarian supplies on top of a mountain where Yazidis, an ancient religious minority were forced to flee to, or face death at the hands of ISIS. Reportedly this is 40,000 people.

“At the request of the Iraqi government we began operations to save Iraqi civilians stranded on the mountain. As ISIL has marched across Iraq, it has waged a brutal campaign against innocent Iraqis. And these terrorists have been especially ruthless against Religious minorities.”

He also added that Isis ordered “the systematic destruction of the entire Yazidi people, which constitutes genocide.”

The President detailed reports of mass murder, and the enslaving of the women. He said that it was a moral imperative to do something when the United States has the capacity to do such.

Obama also said that there is no decision that he takes more seriously than the use of military force.
