Jan 5, 2016 (San Diego) According to Captain Joe Amador at around 3:57 in the afternoon units responded to a report of a possible collapse. Units found the parking structure under the Courtyard by Marriot hotel in Old Town.
The crews found a pipe failed in the lobby, which led to some roof falling off, about a five by five foot hole. There was a lot of water at the lobby and vehicles were submerged in the parking lot.
This hotel is on Jefferson Street, and the area is prone to flooding.
According to Captain Amador there was no evacuation. Nor were there any injuries or threat to life.
He also emphasized that people should call 911 for emergencies. They are responding to multiple emergencies across the city. Many of them are water rescue.
