March 21, 2016 (CENTRAL CALIFORNIA) The Federal Government has filed a continuance with the Court. They have after it might have found a way to exploit the data on the Apple I-Phone used by the San Bernardino terrorists. The document partially reads:
“On Sunday, March 20, 2016, an outside party demonstrated to the FBI a possible method for unlocking Farook’s iPhone. Testing is required to determine whether it is a viable method that will not compromise data on Farook’s iPhone. If the method is viable, it should eliminate the need for the assistance from Apple Inc. (“Apple”) set forth in the All Writs Act Order in this case.”
Apple has argued that this exploitation would compromise the security of all I-Phones in the future, and has refused to help the government in this since it would create what is called a zero day vulnerability. This would allow hackers to exploit the phones. In effect, this would affect cyber security for all users of the IOS platform.
