Several Road Closures: CHP

SAN DIEGO—The northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) Aliso Creek Rest Area will be closed Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. due to paving operations on the I-5 Ocean View Rehab project.  The southbound rest area will remain open.

The Ocean View Rehab project is replacing damaged concrete pavement slabs along I-5 between Oceanside and the San Diego County/Orange County line.

Drivers are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing.

Full Freeway Closure on Westbound SR-52

 Dip Repairs Scheduled Wednesday and Thursday Nights

SAN DIEGO—Caltrans crews will close all westbound lanes on State Route 52 (SR-52) from Interstate 15 (I-15) to Convoy Street Wednesday and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to repair pavement dips.

The connector ramps from northbound and southbound State Route 163 (SR-163) and I-15 as well as the Kearny Villa Road on-ramp to westbound SR-52 will also be closed.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Westbound SR-52 and Southbound SR-163: South on SR-163, west on Interstate 8 (I-8), north on Interstate 5 to SR-52.
  • Northbound SR-163: North on SR-163, north on Interstate 805 to westbound SR-52.
  • Northbound I-15: North on I-15, west on Balboa Avenue, north on I-805 to westbound SR-52.
  • Southbound I-15: South on I-15, west on I-8, north on I-805 to westbound SR-52.

 

Changeable messages signs have been placed to alert mororists about the upcoming closures.

 

Northbound I-805 Closed
Tuesday Night in Golden Triangle

 

SAN DIEGO – Caltrans construction crews will close all lanes on northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive to Interstate 5 (I-5) Tuesday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. to restripe lanes.

 

Northbound I-805 motorists will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5.  The northbound I-805 Nobel Drive and Governor Drive exits will remain open to local traffic.

 

Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road.  The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program andTransNet Extension funds.
