July 3, 2016 (San Diego) A 4 vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital, the driver of one of the vehicles involved. San Diego Police says that the accident is under investigation. They do not know if alcohol was involved.
They did confirm that the accident involved higher than the posted speed. Anywhere from 70 miles per hour to 100. From talking to some of those involved, the accident happened around them, and the driver of the Burgundy Toyota truck was glad to drive a big vehicle. At one point he feared they were going to overturn.
The heavy load on the back helped to keep the four tires on the road, and they were just spun. His camper shell and some of the wood did come out of the truck due to the force of the impact.
A white SUV was propelled across the road onto Friars West at Colusa. The road was closed while officers conducted their investigation. The fire department responded with one engine and they did request a second Advanced Life Support Unit.
