Oct 29, 2016 (San Diego) Ixcatli Sanchez posted the news on her Facebook page. It reads:
As the oldest daughter of Ramon Moroyoqui Sanchez and Isabel Enrique Sanchez, its with indescribable emotion that on 10/28/16 my Pops began his next journey in his phase we call life. At this time, our family requests privacy before we plan arrangements. We want to THANK all that have supported us and have been there in our time if need.
Que Viva El Chunky y que Viva La Causa.
I am not going to speak much of what other media will. I met him late in his life. I remember him singing a corrido for the 43 students at Ayotzinapa. Birdie Gutierrez held the Mike for him. It was a cold night outside the Federal building. It was a moving song of resistance and courage. It was about change and hope as well.
That day there was a link to the youth, the ones who need to continue the fight. It is the nature of social struggle. One that does not stop, because a symbol dies. With no further, we are re-running that photo.
We are adding a link to the story as well.
