Nov 9, 2016 (NEW YORK) John Podesta, campaign manager for Secretary Hillary Clinton, came out to talk to her supporters in New York. This was supposed to be a victory party, but it looks as if we are going down the path of Florida 200o, including recounts. Several states are still too close to call.
Podesta’s statement was very short. “Well folks I know you have been here a long time,” he started. “It’s been a long night, and it’s been a long campaign. But I can say we can wait a little longer, can’t we?”
“They are still counting votes and every vote should count. Several states are too close to call, so we are not going to have anything more to say tonight.”
He told supporters to go home, and get some sleep and thanked them for their support. Podesta also sounded positive as to the final result.
We are still waiting for a statement from Donald Trump or his campaign. The electoral count stands right now at 218 for Clinton and 266 for Trump. Either candidate will need to get 270 electoral votes to win the election.
We are updating this story, as Secretary Clinton has called Donald Trump conceeding the election.
