Measures K and L Pass Changing Politics in San Diego

Nov 9, 2016 (San Diego) Mayor Kevin Faulconer is the last person to win office in June. The voters passed these two measures overnight, which moves all elections to November, It is over, you do not need to get a majority to win outright in June. People will need to stand again in November.

This matters because this means that the June electorate, which is whiter and more conservative, will not have a chance to decide city offices in June.

It also moves all major initiatives to November, with that wider electorate.
