“Ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement.” Donald Trump Speech, New York, November 9, 2016

Nov 9, 2016 (NEW YORK) Donald Trump is now President-elect of the United States and will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. If you are wondering why? The road to the Presidency took him exactly though the narrow path we explained on Friday. This victory went straight through the rust belt and the North American Free Trade Agreement. Suffice it to say, it did parallel the path we predicted on Friday and have suggested all year. It went through the rust belt and free trade agreements.

In his speech, President Elect Trump said, “I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us, it’s about us, on our victory and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign. She fought very hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.”

Trump addressed the divisive campaign and continued: “Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division. Have to get together. To all Republicans, and Democrats and Independents across this nation I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.”

This is the tone of reconciliation that is needed after what has been one of the most divisive and nasty campaigns in recent history. Trump went on with the theme, “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans. And this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not support me in the past…I am reaching out to you, for your guidance and your help, so we can work together and unify our great country.”

Trump also stated that he intends to carry out economic plans that will grow the economy. “We will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation. and renewing the American dream.” What he wants to do for the country, is to unleash the untapped potential of the American people, like he has done over a career in business. He also said that every American will have the opportunity to achieve his or her potential.

Trump also thanked his family and aides. He especially thanked Reince Preibus, Chairman of the Republican Party.

We are embedding his full speech, for those who did not stay up and want to listen to it. We think it is important.

Over the course of the last year, we listened to people on all sides. We were among the few media that is not surprised by this result. This election has been one wild ride, and Trump will take over the White House with full control of Congress. So whatever he intends to do, he has both the House and the Senate. Democrats are now fully in a minority position. This was a change election, and Americans were going to get change one way or another.

We expected a very narrow win for the Democrats, but there were major failures with the polling system, and perhaps are to be explained with the heavy weighting of samples towards one party or the other. This will require a heavy revision, but also the realization that the discontent is heavy. This is why this is the equivalent of Dewey defeats Truman upset.

  1. Yes upset is the word. Anger and devistation, are closer. So what is the path for us Californians? Can we leave this mass of uneducated, backwards, obstructionist, anti-American, redneck states and elect president Sanders?
