Fireworks Explosion Near Mexico City: 29 Death, 70 Wounded

Dec 20, 2016 (TULTEPEC, MEXICO) The fireworks open air market about 20 miles outside Mexico City in Tultepec, Syste of Mexico had a major explosion. From local media three gun powder depots went off.   There are 29 confirmed dead, and 70  wounded, the death toll is expected to rise. 

Rescue teams, including Mexican Red Cross, Mexican Army, fire crews, federal, state and local police are on the scene 

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has also taken to Twitter.

El @GobMx trabaja en coordinación con el Gobierno del Estado de México para atender a los heridos y afectados en Tultepec.

‘The governmen of Mexico (federal) is coordinating with the State of Mexico Governemnt to take care of the wounded and those affected,” the tweet said in Spanish. 

Local media is also reporting that three of the wounded are young children, who will be medically evacuated to Galveston, Texas, due to the extent of the third degree burns. This is part of an agreement with the Shriner Foundation and Mexican Non Gocernmental Organizations. Most of the injuries involve burns and trauma. 

We are publishing this preliminary list of missing persons, since we know there are residents in San Diego with connection in Mexico. Sadly this is hardly a complete list. This is considered a preliminary list.

We are adding the casualty list of patients at the Mexican Red Cross hospital in Polanco, Mexico City. This is a trauma center.

Tras la explosión en el mercado pirotécnico del municipio de Tultepec, Estado de México, en la que murieron 29 personas, fueron difundidas listas de personas internadas en nosocomios mexiquenses y de la capital.
Se dio a conocer que en el hospital de traumatología de Lomas Verdes del IMSS se encuentran internadas las siguientes personas:

  • Paula R. Rosales
  • Iván Martínez García

Minors

  • Aurelio Flores

At the Magdalena de las Salinas they also have a 4 year old Cristofer and 25 year old Luis Ángel Soto Nava.
