Jennings Fire at 400 Acres

CAL FIRE has updated data. It remains at 400 acres, with 30 percent containment.

According to the CAL FIRE incident page, the fire is 10 percent contained, and remains at 400 acres. Also eastbound I-8 is open on the number 1 lane. Number 2 remains closed, so if you drive in the area, exercise caution. 
According to CAL FIRE, all evacuations have been lifted, as well as all warnings.

CAL FIRE SAN DIEGO @CALFIRESANDIEGO #JenningsFire [update] Temporary evacuation shelter at Granite Hills High School has been closed. Joan MacQueen Middle School remains open.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department has issued an evacuation Advisory for Peutz Valley and the upper end of Harbison Canyon in the Hunter Pass area. Mandatory evacuations are still in effect for the area of Viewside Lane, in the Alpine area. Temporary Evacuation Points have been established at Joan MacQueen Middle School located at 2001 Tavern Road, Alpine and Granite Hills High School located at 1719 E Madison Ave. El Cajon. Cal Fire reports that the fire is now at 400 acres. For more information follow the San Diego Sheriff’s Department @SDSheriff or CAL FIRE @CalFireSanDiego.

July 11, 2017 (ALPINE) A fast spreading brush fire in the Lake Jennings Park Road and I-8 closed the interstate in both directions for a small time. However westbound I-8 has reopened.

According to a Tweet from Cal-Fire the forward rate of spread has been stopped.
