Senate Fails in the Repeal of the ACA

July 27, 2017  (WASHINGTON) in a 49-51 vote, with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) casting the deciding vote, tje “skinny Repeal” did not come out of the chamber. Repeal of the Affordable Care Act has failed. With this the efforts to repeal the ACA seem to be over.
This was a\the seventh attempt to do this. Leader Mitch McConnel (R-KY) was very disappointed in the result of the vote. They are sending it back to Committee. Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)  is relieved that millions will keep their healthcare. He is also offering a way forward, by improving the ACA and go back to Regular Order to improve the ACA and fix the issues with the ACA.
Schumer wants to “turn the page, and go back to regular order.” Shummer is also honoring McCain who reminded the Senate how the Senate used to work. This is a grave defeat for President Donald Trump. This was a campaign promise. One that has not been fulfilled.
