I much prefer a chandelier or light fixture of some kind as opposed to a ceiling fan. For me personally, chandeliers always trump ceiling fans because they really add personality to a room. The main issue in chandelier vs fan: ceiling height. As long as you have at least nine foot ceilings you should be okay to forego the fan and add a chandelier instead. When I am concerned about the overall height of a fixture in a family room setting, I look to an oversized drum pendant as my solution. That way you achieve the width without eating up too much of the room height wise.

If any of these fixtures may work for you, or if you’d like us to find you the perfect piece, please contact us:

I would recommend doing some research regarding function and style first to determine what would work best for you. There are different amounts of light control and privacy with each shade and overall different styles and looks so you want to make sure you are happy with your selection first. And lastly just double check that your sizes of windows meet the cordless option requirement as I know sometimes there are limitations. Best of luck!
