Special circumstances require special functions: make your dining table lighting versatile. Work & relax is more than just a slogan. Find the matching mood for any everyday situation. Uncomplicated– without having to install a special dimmer. For this, simply use the already-installed light switch. We offer two light colours with the Work & Relax series: Cold white is perfect for work on the kitchen table. Warm white will let you relax and makes the wine tastier.
Everyone has experienced it before – That moment when you start to write, sew or scribble and darkness envelops your workspace. Even surface lighting without annoying shadows is what we need now. Pendulum lamps offer a practical solution. Single pendulums or longitudinal lamps are chosen based on table size.
Click – bright light floods the kitchen. Max tosses his school bag onto the bench. He opens his bag and rummages around for his exercise sheet. Mathematics. Click-click – the light illuminates the dinner table in a pleasantly warm light. “Max, please put your exercises away. We’re about to eat,” calls Max’s mother. Click-click. The table is cleared. Mama pulls her sewing kit from a drawer below the table. She precisely threads the tiny eye of the needle – a perfect hit.
After an average of 9 months, our new luminaires arrive in the stores where you will be able to get an idea of our work at our many sales partners. Who knows – maybe one of our ideas will make it to your home, too!
These or similar scenes happen in thousands of households every day. Various tasks are performed at the main meeting point of the house. The dinner table is more than just the centre of the culinary journey through Mama’s cooking skills. It must be universal. Most of all, it must be well lit. Work in the home office or the weekly game of chess – only the right light will make the activity an experience. What must be observed?
The luminaires are produced in series now. Serial production takes place at one of our sites in China, Hungary or India. In order to have all the novelties ready for delivery in all warehouses in time to start sales, we need sophisticated production and logistics plans.
This project phase is driven by an interaction of purchasing, technical development, quality department and sample construction in the production operation. This way, the first prototypes are built, quality tests are performed and the new luminaire is visually checked thoroughly again as well. When these obstacles have been overcome, the project can be concluded and a new luminaire is just about to enter serial production.
When we see potential in an idea, we step things up and the design is brought to life. The first, manually produced model of the new luminaire is built in our headquarters in Pill, Tyrol. It is then improved until we love its shape, colour and lighting effect. Product managers, designers and developers are involved in the process throughout to contribute their experience and know-how. Once we are happy, we will sharpen our pens and calculate a product price that will be attractive to you to create an optimal price-performance package.
A successful solution for your kitchen lighting also includes basic and ambience lighting. This triad will give you perfect light. That is what Max and his mother did – simple, fast and uncomplicated. Put the right things in focus – with Work & Relax by EGLO
The manually produced, partially improvised template now needs to be defined in all its details: One of the EGLO production sites will build the first actual luminaire based on the specifications of the development department in Tyrol. Development or purchase of every tiny piece will be defined precisely in order to build a standardised production process. In order to ensure this, even some new production tools will be constructed.
The vintage-look floor luminaire, the fabric pendant luminaire or the classical ceiling floodlight reinterpreted: EGLO puts nearly 1,000 new luminaires on the market every year in order to offer you a great selection of lighting options for your home. It takes an experienced team and well-structured process to master these many new products. The design process for a new luminaire comprises four essential phases – each of them exciting and full of challenges.
In order to fully use the luminance of the luminaire, the distance between the luminaire and table top is highly important as well. It must be between 80 cm and 100 cm. Not too long – but also not too short.
Our product managers and designers are always at the pulse of the time and let various sources inspire them – by visiting trade fairs, observing the market or tracking and taking up design and technology trends from many different areas of life. What novelties are there in the area of technical implementation? Where is the furnishing trend going in general? Are there any new lighting technologies? These are only some of the questions that we answer in the first steps of development in order to find an innovative design and the matching technology. We always keep in mind that we want to make the customer enthusiastic about our products.
