Attach the outlet on the string lights to an extension cord. Snake the cord down to your power source, and plug it in. Secure the cord to a wall or a post with cord clips. If desired, install an outlet timer so your lights automatically turn on and off.

Lay string lights around the perimeter of your deck. Eyeball where you would like each strand to hang, and adjust lights until they’re in desired position. Make sure the plug is near a power outlet. Using a ladder and a pencil, mark the rough placement of each light on your deck’s overhang.
Editor’s Tip: How you want your lights to hang determines how many holes to drill and how many screw eyes to install. If you want taut lights that stretch around the deck, install a screw eye for every light. If you’d like your lights to swag, install eyes every other or every third light.

The colors, the price and being able to connect them all together.
Editor’s Tip: We used Edison-style bulbs for our deck, but you can use any desired light bulbs. Keep in mind that while LED bulbs have a distinct look, they’ll save energy if you plan to use your lights frequently throughout the year.
Spend more time out on your patio when you install cafe string lights. These scene-stealing illuminaries make warm nights even better. They cast a soft, cozy glow and make it possible to stay outside longer. Plus, they’re easy to install.

These lights are gorgeous at night and add a great flare to the patio during the day.
Love them. Can’t say anything bad about them. Lots of light and good quality
I love them. Give a beautiful glow to my patio but be careful when handling them as they are fragile and break easily. I had to return the first set I bought because as I was trying to hang them on my patio when the bulb barely touched a blade of grass it busted.
Another busted when it touched a hot brick on my patio. With the second set I simply removed all the bulbs and when I had arranged the cord where i wanted it to hang on my patio I reattached the bulbs.
This worked out fine. They give a beautiful glow to my patio and offer plenty of light without being too bright or overpowering. Simply beautiful. Also this price is unbeatable. I had shopped around and saw them for twice as much at other stores.
Bought two more sets to hang in my gazebo

Use mini metal carabiners to attach the lights to the screw eyes. Simply thread the carabiner through the hole at the top of each light, then thread it through the eye of the screw. This installation makes it extremely easy to install and take down the lights as desired.
Love the look of these lights in my backyard. We removed the bulbs before hanging to prevent breaking any bulbs. Easy to hang and great price!
We purchased 5 sets to go on our newly built deck, we used a T50 stapler to hold wire down so that the lights stand up on the rail. They are very beautiful and puts out just the right amount of light. 5 STARS
These are really nice lights. Good value for the price. Like the bulb shape. Very retro. They are much brighter than the on line picture shows. Very clear and while not soft and yellow as I thought they would be.
And they put out a lot of heat so be sure they don’t lay against anything flammable.
Place one bulb in the socket of each light. Twist until the bulb is secure.

Predrill holes in marked locations, then twist a screw eye into each hole.
Add mood lighting to your deck or patio with outdoor string lights.
We’ll show you a foolproof way to hang cafe string lights—for good. Our hanging method will last season after season, so no more putzing around with plastic hooks and other temporary solutions. We use screw eyes and carabiners to attach the lights so they’re just as easy to put up as they are to take down. Expect to spend an hour or so on this project, depending on the size of your deck (ours was 12×12-foot).

Better Homes and Gardens Outdoor Marble Globe String Light Set
These are advertised as outdoor lights. It rained one night and now they do not work. All three sets that I bought are damaged.
We really love these lights but when we received our 2 sets one bulb was not working. We would like a replacement but cannot find out how to contact the company.
