We are busy getting ready for the first show of the year – the Fine Art Fine Wine Fair at the St. Mary’s Campus in Orchard Lake, MI. The address is 3535 Commerce Rd. Times are 11 to 9 on Saturday, June 24, and noon to 6 on Sunday, June 25. A few sneak peaks of new lamps to come!

Got our first show acceptance back, and it’s a new one! We will be at Art in the Sun in Northville June 20 through the 22nd. Hope to see our lamp friends to the east there!

It should be safe to post the Christmas lamps by now! Here are 3 that were made this year as gifts.

Hi Lamp Friends! Sorry you haven’t heard from us for awhile. It’s been a hot one so far, hasn’t it?! Kind of glad we aren’t trying to stay cool in the tent. We are only doing a few shows this year, and the first one isn’t until August. Needing to decide where things will go from here, but you can always let us know if there is something you are looking for! New photos coming soon…

Hi Lamp friends, happy December! How’d you make out between Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday? It’s gotten to be quite the shopping marathon! Well, just a friendly reminder, if you’re having trouble finding the right gift for someone who has everything, Everybody needs a nightlight! 🙂

The Golden Ram finally made it to its new home. Looks like the artist and sister Sandi are having fun with it!

People often ask about having their own item turned into a lamp. This is an example – the basis of the lamp in this picture is a spent shell which was made by a soldier in one of the world wars into a vase. … Lainnya This is called trench art. The owner liked the look of it, but didn’t want to use it as a vase. With some creativity, a marble base, a “cap” from another lamp, and a stained glass shade, it has a new life!

3 more of the table lamps still available. Not nearly the photo quality of Gary’s photo below, but hopefully you can get the idea!

We received 2 more acceptances this week, and they are both for new shows! We will be at the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven on August 5th and 6th. Then we will be doing our first show out of state! It is in Michigan City, Indiana (ok, not TOO far out!) at the Lubeznik Art and Artisan Festival on August 19th through the 21st. The summer is starting to fill up!

ART SHOW: The Summer Art Show, features a mix of fine art and fine crafts displayed on the shores of scenic Round Lake in downtown Charlevoix. Participating

We spent the afternoon with Gary Yonkers, getting professional shots of some of the lamps to use for the show applications next year. Thanks to Gary for the great shots!

Wow the calendar says we’re already half way through January! Time to start submitting applications for this summer’s shows! We’re open to suggestions – just need to have electricity available. Hope you are all enjoying your lamps on these dark, dreary days!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend. Please take time to remember those who have served our country, especially those who did not come home. We light our lamps in their honor!

Gearing up for our next show! This is a biggie, so if you’re looking for something to do this Saturday, come on down, over, up, or whichever to Berrien Springs! Wear your walking shoes and be sure to stop in and say hi!

Happy birthday to the Lamp Guy! From his wife, the grunt labor, lol.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Lamp Friends from Jay’s Unique Lamps! We hope that this has been a year full of blessings for you, and if it has been one with more challenges than blessings, we hope that the next one brings you peace.

Very sorry to announce that the art fair in Frankenmuth in August has been cancelled. They were unable to get enough artists to participate, which is a real shame because we enjoyed doing this show, and found the Fine Arts Council most helpful and welcoming.

On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me… Three fluted globes two clarinets and a unique lamp by which to see!

On the 6th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… Six summer art shows

One new lamp for the show in St. Joe on Saturday. Sure hope the storms hold off until later in the evening! Wherever you are this weekend, have a safe and wonderful holiday.

I got a little behind on postings! Here are a few shots from the Michaywe show, and the beautiful grounds where the show was held. The awesome organizers let us stay right on site, in exchange for keeping an eye on the place at night. Worked out great – thanks to them!

Sorry Lamp Friends – this one is not for sale! But we thought you might enjoy seeing the latest creation.

We’ve got 2 of the green, and 4 of the clear antique insulator nightlights available, on a variety of bases (the red ones in the photo already sold though). $30 each.

Our first show of the year was a new one, at the site of the Orchard Lake Schools. It is a beautiful setting, with the original buildings built between 1858 and 1924, in the Romanesque Revival style. At one… Lainnya time it was a military academy, considered only second to West Point. We did not know we had such a thing in Michigan! The grounds are beautiful, and there are statues/sculptures everywhere. Here are just a few images.

On the 4th day of Christmas my true love gave to me… 4 green beauties 3 fluted globes 2 clarinets and a unique lamp by which to see!

Is it finally fall? It must be, next weekend is the very large and impressive Chapel Hill Arts and Crafts show in Berrien Springs. This will be our last outdoor show of the year. 4 large barns full of venders, as well as all the folks like us who set up outside. If you come to the show, be sure to stop by to see the new dragon lamp! The show is on Saturday only.

We got our 1st show acceptance for 2017, and it will be a new one! We will be at the Fine Art Fine Wine Fair in Orchard Lake, on June 24 and 25th. Sounds like fun!

We didn’t have the greatest show this weekend in terms of sales; however, we had fun, and met a long lost relative! We’ve had so many unexpected outcomes from doing these art shows, it has definitely been a worthwhile adventure. On to St. Jo!

Labor Day weekend is fast approaching! We have a few new lamps that we need to get photographed and posted! I’ll try to get that done this week. But to see them in person, come on down to St. Jo next Saturday!

We got our location for Northville today. We will be in site 23, which is at the north end of center Street. It looks like we’re 3 booths down from the kettle corn, so we should see alot of people! We’d love to have you come for the festivities and stop by to say hi! Show hours are 3 to 8 on Friday, June 19, 10 to 8 on Saturday the 20th, and 10 to 5 on Sunday the 21st.

Here’s an overview of the fairgrounds. We will be in our tent outside, along the road parallel to the barns, and kind of above the C in “county”! All 4 of the barns are full of artists, in addition to the outdoor area.

Thanks to all our veterans, as well as the current military men and women. We burn a light tonight in your honor.

Happy birthday America! Happy Independence Day, Lamp Friends! We always like this holiday – must have something to do with all the pretty “lights” in the sky! So enjoy those fireworks, but remember please to keep your dogs safe and sound during this noisy celebration.

November is certainly flying by! Been working on some Christmas orders, but there;s still time if you have a special request. Make it soon though! It is at the fairgrounds in town, and there are 250+ vendors there. We will be outside again, in our usual set up. If you attend, be sure to stop in and say hi!

We had a great trip to Charlevoix this past weekend. The weather could not have been better! Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for hosting. The “Monster” went to a great home, as well as some of the smaller lamps! Thanks to all, and especially Kathi who helped make that happen!
