If you are looking for ugly overpriced cheesy stuff and wish to be helped by a surly asshole, run don’t walk here. Otherwise, go to Just Shades. Even if you live next door to legend lampshades, it’s not worth the trip.

Just returned from Legends Lamps and Lampshades on Jericho Turnpike with my antique brass lamp, and the new silk lampshade looks better than ever. The proprietor suggested a smaller shade, and now that I see the lamp in my foyer, he was correct. I also purchased a new finial, but it all was more reasonable than having a lampshade custom made. Many of my lamps can use new shades, and this guy knows his stuff, so I will be going back. I have some reasonable Asian lamps, but new shades will make them shine again. Love his antique and vintage lamps and chandeliers too, but you have to like the traditional Italian, French, European look. A new shade can zip up a tired look. Glad we still have a lampshade craftsman in Huntington. I returned to Legends yesterday, and bought another lampshade. Larry Wong is very knowledgeable, and my desk lamp looks better than ever. An A++++ experience.
Whether it’s old or new, big or small, our skilled staff can repair, restore, refinish and/or replace any lighting items.
The guy behind the counter was very rude. Made me not feel welcomed. I would not do business with this establishment. I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Forget the home design chain stores! Their shades are mass produced, common looking and overpriced. Larry, the owner of Legend, has been in this business for nearly 30 years. He is a legend himself and certainly the last of the lamp shade artisans! This one-of-kind custom lamp shade store can only be found in South Huntington. Larry is a true professional who gives his personal touch helping to choose just the right shade, building custom shades from your ideas and fabrics, restoration and safe wiring. He brought my mother’s antique alabaster lamp back to life!
